Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
1. The service
SafeShieldX ("the Service") provides automated link-safety scanning: you submit a URL and we return an assessment (verdict, score, evidence, domain and technical data). The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".
2. No guarantee of safety
Scan results are automated assessments, not guarantees. A "safe" verdict means no known threat signals were found — it does not prove a link is harmless, and a "dangerous" verdict is an indicator, not a legal determination. You remain responsible for your own decisions about which links to open. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on scan results.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse the Service (e.g. automated scraping far beyond normal use, attempts to disrupt or circumvent rate limits);
- Submit URLs you know to be illegal content for the purpose of distribution;
- Use the API to build a competing public scanning service without permission;
- Attempt to access other users' accounts, API keys or data.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API keys confidential. API keys shown once at creation cannot be recovered — create a new one if lost. You are responsible for activity under your account.
5. Free and Premium tiers
The free tier includes a daily scan limit (shown on the home page). Premium is a paid subscription with higher limits and additional features (bulk scanning, watchlists, API access, scan history). Feature availability per tier may change; we will update the pricing page accordingly.
6. Billing
Premium subscriptions are billed through our payment processor, Paddle. By purchasing, you also agree to Paddle's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime via the "Manage subscription" link on your account page; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled according to Paddle's refund policy.
7. Scan data
Submitted URLs and their scan results are stored to provide scan history and shareable reports, as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not submit URLs containing sensitive personal data you do not wish to be stored.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
