Website Down Checker

Is that site down for everyone — or just for you? Enter any website address and find out in seconds, with its status code and response time.

The check runs from the SafeShieldX server, not from your device — that is exactly what answers "down for everyone or just me". Private and internal addresses are refused for safety.

How to read the result: Up means the site answered normally. Reachable but with an error page (for example 404) means the site itself is working but that exact page is missing or its server is erroring. Unreachable means the server could not be contacted at all — that is when a site is genuinely down. If this tool says "up" but the site fails on your device, the problem is on your side: try another network, restart your router, or clear your browser cache.

Common questions

It says the site is up, but it won't load for me. Why?

Then the problem is between you and the site: your internet connection, your Wi-Fi, a VPN, or your browser. Try opening the site on mobile data, in another browser, or after restarting your router.

What does "response time" mean?

How long the site took to answer the check, in milliseconds. Under 500 ms feels fast, 500–2000 ms is normal, and several seconds usually means the site is struggling or far away.

Why are private addresses refused?

Because a checker that fetches any address it is given can be abused to probe private networks. This tool only checks public websites — it refuses localhost, home-network and office-network addresses outright.

Is this the same as the link scanner?

No. The scanner judges whether a link is safe (phishing, scams, malware signals). This checker only asks one question: is the site responding? A dangerous site can be "up", and a safe site can be "down" — the two tools answer different questions.
